“Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair;
the rest is in the hands of God.”
By the way, repair in this reference means “Take refuge, or find Sanctuary”
I write this post because it is necessary in the current climate. The issue here is not separated by political party, divided by racial lines, or applied differently across gender. The current climate shows that this is not George Washington’s America.
Today, we will add to “The M’Clure Files” something I have had for quite some time. It was written by David M’Clure at the passing of George Washington in commemoration of his role in God’s Providence. M’Clure not only lived at the time of Washington, he was considered a friend to the “Friends of Liberty.” He does not provide a revisionist history; he provides reflections of one who experienced the role Washington played in the Freeing of America and increasing freedom in the world. “He taught us to stand fast in defense of the liberties, in which GOD had made us free.” Throughout this post, I will pull a few quotes from M’Clure’s discourse, but strongly recommend you read the whole thing… several times… and then pass it along to everyone you can. READ HERE
“A reflection on the wonderful increase and prosperity of these New England States, from their feeble beginning, in the uncommon smiles of Heaven upon them, will constrain us to acknowledge, that GOD hath shewed mercy to the children, on account of the piety of their ancestors.
They fled from persecution, with the pure and laudable purpose of maintaining the knowledge and worship of the true GOD, and the simplicity and purity of the religion of JESUS; and to transmit the blessings of civil and religious liberty to future generations.”
“It is a duty to celebrate the worthy characters of departed benefactors of our country, because we enjoy the happy fruits of their good deeds, and because the example will excite the laudable emulation of others, to imitate their noble actions.”
Let’s start there.
In assistance to the children of indoctrination, New England States = United States of America. When M’Clure refers to “benefactors,” he is referring to the Pilgrims who fled Britain, the founding fathers, and particularly George Washington.
Pi’ety: “piety in principle, is a compound of veneration or reverence of the Supreme Being and love of his character, or veneration accompanied with love; and piety in practice, is the exercise of these affections in obedience to his will and devotion to his service. Piety is the only proper and adequate relief of decaying man.” Webster’s 1828
Venera’tion: “The highest degree of respect and reverence.” Webster’s 1828
To what is M’Clure referring?
“Righteous men by their piety and their works, preserve the world from judgments. The holy GOD restrains the vials of his wrath, for their sake. They are the salt of the earth. Destruction could not come upon the impious cities of the plain, until righteous Lot was removed beyond the reach of the storm. Israel was blessed for Abraham’s piety; and the house of Potipher, yea, the kingdom of Egypt were prospered and saved, because the virtuous and godlike Joseph dwelt there.”
Then, M’Clure equates Washington to these historical figures in Scripture and goes on to say: “The wise and good man, who by his wisdom delivers a city, from the destruction of its enemies, is forgotten by its thoughtless and ungrateful inhabitants;” M’Clure continues, apparently giving the benefactors of Washington’s sacrifices too much credit: “but the people of these redeemed States will never forget its noble defenders, who have poured out their blood, and sacrificed their lives in their defense.”
The people of these redeemed States have not just forgotten those, like Washington, who poured out their blood, they actively work to disgrace their gifts. Today, the people who only exist because of Washington, deface his image and tear down his monuments. This is something I have been adamantly against… but, as I write this, I may change my mind. I mean, who among the people are worthy to even stand at the base of The Washington Monument?
“It is a duty to celebrate the worthy characters of departed benefactors of our country, because we enjoy the happy fruits of their good deeds, and because the example will excite the laudable emulation of others, to imitate their noble actions.”
Again, taking politics out of it… whose “Noble Actions” rise to a level that “Excites Imitation”? In 2020 alone, we have seen “the left” incite riots in our streets. Before you cheer… we have seen those on “the right” sit back and watch the citizens they claim to represent and swear to protect suffer because “they will see what it’s like under Democrat authority.” Anarchy runs wild in the streets of “these redeemed States” because both sides thought they would reap political benefit. Also in 2020, we have seen “the left” show their true colors as they provoked fear in the citizenry and then used that fear to unleash a totalitarian wave across these same “redeemed States.” Meanwhile, the politicians on “the right” sat “disappointed” with their actions. They sat as those they swore an oath to protect are locked in their homes away from their families and out of their churches.
“In vain will the meer ambitious man, the immoral philosophist, and the unprincipled atheist, labor to rise to respectability and glory; though their talents may be brilliant, their motives are despicable and dangerous. The irreligious and vicious, are enemies of their country. And when this is the general character of a people, they invite and draw down public ruin.”
I will, without question, return to Washington to close, but here is the point of this post: “when this is the general character of a people, they invite and draw down public ruin.” Admittedly, I railed on this a little in “An Open Letter to ‘The Governed’,” but it cannot be overstated. So, there are no Washingtons in 2020 government… “there’s nothing we can do… it’s out of our hands.”
Really?
“In early life he possessed the mature wisdom of age; and was called when a stripling… When Britain prepared chains, to fetter the free born minds of the Americans, as the French once, in vain attempted to do; he stepped forth, the first among her worthy sons, to defend his country.”
When the streets began to burn, where were the Striplings (young people)? When our sick and elderly were locked away in nursing homes and the Free Born were, figuratively, put in chains to die from Covid, where were America’s “Worthy Sons (and daughters)”? When the Ambitious, Immoral, and Unprincipled Governors and Mayors ordered the doors of the churches to close… Where were the Christians????????? Where were “The People of Character”?
As we move towards the day where we, as Free Americans, get together to Thank God for His Providence in sending men like Washington to bring Freedom to the Earth, the “Despicable and Dangerous” order the Free People to resist the urge to come together to thank God. As the “Irreligious and Vicious” elected Governors and unelected bureaucrats of HHS departments decree to stay away from our families, who will surrender? Who will reach out their hands and slip on the chains that so many died to remove? When churches once again close their doors, revealing their true masters through their obedience and sending a clear statement of disbelief in The Master’s Providence, where are “The People of Character”?
OK, you know I can’t get through a post without a story… I have two.
First, when I was a teenager, I looked forward to the day I could vote. I was raised with the belief that the Right to Vote was both a privilege and a responsibility. You had a responsibility to educate yourself on your choices and then a responsibility to get your butt off the coach and go to the polling place to vote. While not doing so was never an option presented, it was, however, clearly stated that an unwillingness to “put the effort in” showed a disrespect for this Privilege and a sacrifice, a surrender, of this Right.
So, I have always researched my choices and not treated them so lightly as to rely on strangers to do my due diligence for me. While I have always agreed with the adage, “If you don’t vote, you don’t have a right to complain about the results,” I also never took this as a license to vote carelessly. In 2020, that Privilege has been threatened, that Responsibility trivialized, and that Right all but taken away. People have not only been allowed to vote from their coaches, they have been guilt-tripped and frightened into doing so. Their ability to research their choices has been interfered with by candidates they must choose between, the media that is supposed to exist as a resource, and communist level censorship of the modern “libraries” of information, Social Media.
Where are “The People of Character”?
In 2020, People of Character know that the system used to facilitate this Privilege of our Right to Vote was flush with opportunity to steal this Right away. I say opportunity because, regardless of what is shown or suppressed, People of Character know that anything other than In Person, Verifiable Voting will result in immoral people taking away our Free Choice. And People of Character know that this abuse will not honor party lines, skin color, or gender. People of Character know that while some sit happy today believing they have benefited from this abuse, these same people have lost their voices as well and may only realize it when the abuse no longer benefits them.
Where are “The People of Character”?
Are they in the State Legislatures rising up to ferret out the abuses and the Truth of 2020? Are they in the State Legislatures changing the laws to secure our Right to Vote and not have it stolen in 2022? Are they in the courts, the counties, or the townships? Are they in the “virtual” church pew or camped out in the streets of their capitals? Who protects what our Ancestors sacrificed, shed blood, and died to give us? Where are “The People of Character”?
Second, in an “Open Letter to ‘The Governed,’” I give some statistics and the real price the un-American, un-Washingtonian dictates (not laws) have on various members of the human condition. One of these strikes close to home – the increase in addictive behaviors and deaths from those behaviors.
“Here are some numbers from the CDC on alcohol and drug-related deaths within the U.S. in 2017:
- Alcoholic Liver Disease: 22,246
- Alcohol-Induced Deaths (not including accidents & homicides): 35,823
- Drug-Induced Deaths: 73,990 (including drug overdoses)
Allow me to help with the math… total = 132,064.” In the early days of the lock downs, increases in sales of various Alcohols ranged from 42% to 75%. What do you suppose they are now?
Months ago, in the year 2020, we made friends with a neighbor and a recovering alcoholic. On Friday last week, I got a call from this neighbor asking if we wanted company that night. Thankfully, I said yes. Why? Because what I didn’t know was that Friday nights were his AA meeting. What I didn’t know was that the church that had provided them a place to have this “Essential,” Life Saving event had once again closed their doors in Fear of Covid-19. Let’s have a few other numbers from the CDC shall we?
September 2020, CDC Report, Covid-19 “Survival Rates.” (Means: Don’t Die)
- Age 0 to 19 (means K-12 age) survival rate 99.997%
- Age 20 to 49 (means college age+) survival rate 99.98%
- Age 50 to 69 (means through retirement) survival rate 99.95%
- Age 70+ (means highest risk) survival rate 94.6%
Did you know that the survival rate across All Motor Vehicle Accidents is only 99.991% according to the National Center for Health Statistics (2018)? Yet, I don’t see everyone locking their cars in the garage or the government suspending everyone’s licenses, and I haven’t heard of any clergy asking parishioners to walk to church.
0.003% to 0.05% risk is all it takes to instill Fear in “God’s People,” get them to Embrace Doubt in God’s Providence, and surrender their Endowed Freedom. Again, I ask: Where are “The People of Character”? Where are the Christians? Where are the Washingtons? We dare not even ask, Where are the Davids, the Shadrachs, the Meshachs or the Abednegos?
In the name of “safety,” the state of Oregon has the toughest Covid lock downs, limiting its citizens to just 6 people in their private homes going into Thanksgiving. Oh, and, by the way, their Governor vows to enforce this with…. wait for it…. Police! In case you missed it, Portland is in Oregon, the same Portland that burned at the hands of rioters as the Governor and Mayor refused to put a stop to it with…. Police. Meanwhile, the Free Born people of Oregon just voted to legalize “Hard Drugs.” Did you know that, according to the CDC, the number of people who died from drug overdoses was 70,237 in 2017 and 67,367 in 2018?
Where are “The People of Character”?
As promised, I close with a little more from M’Clure on General, President, Founding Father, Benefactor, George Washington.
“It is not possible for human eloquence to do justice to the character of this great man… in him was such a nobleness and elevation of mind, above the common lot of humanity, as baffles the powers of description.”
When Freedom was threatened, when the government chains that the Redeemed States had rejected returned for them… A “Thunder” was heard!
“In the cold and dreary night of Christmas, he crossed the Delaware, and came like a clap of thunder upon the enemy…”
Dare we compare…? Is this still George Washington’s America? When Christmas 2020 comes and the Tyrants return and enter your homes by unconstitutional fiat, what will they hear? The Governor of Washington state (sad irony) just rattled his citizens’ chains, and you can be confident the rest of the Tyrannical Hord will soon follow. Are there Any of Washington’s Character in these Redeemed States of America in the year 2020?
I will let M’Clure, who recorded at the time of Washington’s death the things he knew to be true regarding George Washington as “a standard to which the wise and honest can repair,” conclude:
“There can be no true greatness without goodness. The noblest object this world can afford, is a great man, at the head of a nation, adorned with the attributes of religion. In the language of inspiration, he is ‘a God on earth;’ an humble representative of the Deity in human form; and will command universal veneration.
He has given freedom to his numerous slaves, and made provision for their comfortable existence! May his example be imitated by the numerous holders of their fellow men in bondage, in the southern states, and throughout the world; and the unfortunate children of Ham, possess the blessings of liberty, and the comforts of religion.
Methinks I see him, with lowly reverence, bow before the throne of GOD and of the LAMB; and hear pronounced the blessed Euge, ‘Well done good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, enter into the joy of thy LORD.’
How are the mighty fallen!
While the hearts of millions of Americans, are living monuments of grief; are there any who secretly rejoice at our loss?
The enemies of our rising empire, of religion and order, rejoice.”
In 2020, it is not the graves of Washington and the Founders that The People dance on… it is their own………… And while they do……….. Where are the “The People of Character”?
